Peer-to-peer (P2P) connections have become one of the favorite ways to share files over the Internet. This type of file sharing has the advantage that it does not depend on a server. Instead, you may “leech” (download) data from different “seeds” (shared sources). FreeTorrentViewer is a torrent client that will let you download or upload data. In addition, it will also allow you search the Internet for files.
Using the program is very easy as everything is based on creating a download list and letting FreeTorrentViewer manage it for you. When you start the program, you will get some tips, which will help you understand how to use the program. However, you may still do well without them because the interface is very intuitive, even for novices. Having used download managers before may also help a lot.
In order to add a new download, you can use the Local Search button, which lets you browse the local disk for torrent files. In addition, you can also use the Search button to find online torrents. Once you have created the list of download tasks, they start to download immediately.
This program has limited, yet useful, settings. These will let you set limits for download and upload rates, establish the maximum number of connections and the maximum number of uploads. You can also choose a search engine. My recommendation for beginners is not to mess with these settings or they may result in poor download speeds. Unfortunately, this program is far less customizable than the 5-star software of its type: uTorrent. more
